They advertised gluten free clam chowder, which is what got us in there, but this is what we found when we ran through the door:
But here's the really cool part, stay with me. The owner of the restaurant - well probably everyone in the restaurant, really - noticed how much Dane was enjoying his chicken strips (first time this five-year-old has ever had chicken strips!) and came out to talk with us. When we thanked her profusely she said "you need to be thanking my customers, all I did was listen to them. They said they would like nothing more than fish and chips, but then they said that I'd need to have a separate fryer for them. So I listened"....
Are your socks knocked off right now!?!? All it took was these customers requesting what they wanted, and teaching the owner a little bit about what they needed, and this sweet little town of depoe bay, oregon, now serves delicious fish and chips and chicken strips!!!
So, my friends... Shall we start to politely and endearingly request what we'd like from our favourite local eateries!? Do you feel inspired!?
Just think how many people will benefit if we can spark these sorts of changes...
And now, the Sudermans are onto the next campsite-
