i don't know if you've taken in an event like this before, but anytime i surround myself with healthy, green, conscientious influences, i get inspired - as if by osmosis ;) so while this sounds like a ton of fun for both marc and i, and the kids, i think my true motivation for going would be to re-light that fire for striving to be a little bit healthier. or you might just like that for $16 your whole family could take in this event for as many hours as you can pack in! check this out -
a hybrid car giveaway, food samples galore, products and services that will help you on your road to greener and healthier family life, and tons of fun activities to keep every member of your family happy! the green mama will be holding down the fort in the green marketplace - a whole area dedicated to eco-friendly, health-conscious, up and coming companies. and as a reward for your kiddos being so patient while you check out the latest and greatest gear for them, you can head on over to the giant hamster wheels! kids and adults can climb in these and race up and down an inflatable track! this would turn into an olympic sprint trial in my family, i can just see the competitive spirit rearing it's head in each of us... and then we would move onto the rock climbing wall, and obvioulsy race to the top. and then onto the bouncy castle, because who can resist a bouncy castle? but that's not the end of it - a portable tumbling gym, built inside a bus, a sportball play zone, bobs and lolo, family yoga, playground workouts, a family cooking segment... it might be the best birthday party ever, or it might be the healthy family expo.
and onto the reason why you, specifically, might be interested in this event - there will be a ton of gluten free vendors there, eager to give you a sample of their product! here are a few of them to wet your whistle - Flora, La Grotta Del Formaggio, PowerPlant Whole Foods, Eat Real Snack Food Canada, HardBite Chips, Nature's Path Foods, Vita Coco, Holy Crap, Love Child Organics... and the list goes on.
one last reason why this just may be the greatest way to spend your sunday - if you buy your tickets ahead of time, they are only $8 for adults ($12, cash, at the door), and kids 12 and under are free! a seriously inexpensive family day. you can buy your tickets online here, or at whole foods or london drugs.
let me know if you check it out, i always love to hear about your favs and your not-so-favs!
enjoy your weekend friends -
